My favorite time of year is temporary tattoo time! Once again my insatiable appetite has been satisfied, for the time being, with a Japanese-inspired layout for this year’s upcoming Wine Riot in October. Kampai!

This project, on which I collaborated with the lovely Dani Nordin from The Zen Kitchen, was my first foray into hand-illustrated typography. The process was a lot of fun – it involved a few Sharpies, a notebook, a scanner and a lot of experimentation in Illustrator.

This is a project created for the lovely pop-up shop, 303Grand, in Brooklyn. These images were created in Illustrator to help a client visualize what the endlessly customizable space could look like for their brand and their objective. The mission was to create an environment in the heart of Brooklyn that would depict the client, an online bank, clearly – young, urban and community-based, while also reflecting their financial stability and integrity.

Nautical, vintage-inspired temporary tattoo designs for September 2009′s Wine Riot. The location – the John J. Moakley Courthouse – overlooked the beautiful Boston harbor, so the intermingled theme of water and wine was appropriate. A 21+ event made way for some seriously fun and cheeky illustrations – a topless mermaid, a tall ship, an anchor and knuckle tattoos.

Okay so this one is Edgar Allan Poe as a Raccoon, done with good old pen and ink.

Poe is dark! Raccoons are nocturnal – need I say more?!

Wine Riot Guide

I created this guide cover for the April 09 Wine Riot, an expo-style wine tasting geared towards Boston’s young, urban demographic. It was important to visually explain the event with an energetic, cheeky and impactful image that would appeal to the target audience.
