North Shore Baby, published by Union Park Press in December of 2011, is a handy “field guide” for parents with children in the Boston area. The book highlights the best local activities, day trips, museums, theaters and classes, and it was as much fun to illustrate as it is to read. Aside from setting the typography, I created the front and back cover and worked on some of the interior illustrations.

Spanish Wine Region Posters

I created these posters for September’s Wine Riot in Brooklyn. There was a lounge at the event sponsored by The Heredad Collection that featured wines from five different regions of Spain. There needed to be some compelling, mildy educational and eye-catching visuals to draw attention to this area of the event. The inspiration comes from bright and colorful vintage Spanish travel posters.

Fun Fact: Most of the photographs on the posters come from Tyler Balliet, the president of Second Glass and creator of Wine Riot, who has traveled through Spain touring vineyards!

Wedding Invitations

I was so excited when I was asked to create the wedding invitations for some good friends of mine. They are definitely a non-traditional couple in the best way, and coming up with the right blend of their personality, sense of style and their summery, Mexican-themed wedding was a lot of fun. From what I hear, there may or may not be a Day of the Dead skull featured on the cake.

The 2010 Second Glass Annual Wine Guide

My design imagination was allowed to run wild, courtesy of The Second Glass. This project included the works: 48 pages of information-packed wine goodness complete with a set of illustrated educational maps, detailed category icons and the placement of over 200 bottles of wine. If this isn’t love, than I don’t know what is.

Here are some posters I created for Artists & Fleas and their new, outdoor flea market in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The client needed a grungy, accessible design that would speak to the target audience in the area. Showcased here are some alternative directions that were explored, including the final poster & postcards.

This is a 2-color newspaper advertisement I created for a revolving storefront in Brooklyn, called 303GRAND. The idea was to invoke the artsy, urban spirit that the storefront caters to in Brooklyn, while also being accessible to to the interested professional here in Boston.

This 32-page guide for September 2009′s Wine Riot features a custom illustrated cover (a modern–and more lively–interpretation of Emanuel Leutze’s “Washington Crossing the Delaware”), a detailed map, a number of ads and the placement of over 250 wines, numerous “Crash Courses” and descriptions and schedules of the event.
